From the transition to renewable energy to the resilience of supply infrastructure, energy considerations now shape investment strategies, asset valuations, and operational decisions and other critical challenges at the intersection of real estate and energy.
For this special eighteenth issue of Summit, AFIRE’s multiple-award winning journal and thought leadership platform, we are looking for creative solutions from investors, academics, and experts focused energy and the future of real estate.

THE ASK
We welcome proposals for both original drafts and pre-published articles that explore topics such as:
- The real estate implications of the energy transition and decarbonization efforts
- Energy supply infrastructure and its impact on regional real estate markets
- Risks associated with energy supply/demand imbalances and their effects on asset performance
- The exposure of real estate pro formas to rising energy costs and competition for supply
- Practical analyses and case studies of active developments or innovations for energy and real estate
- Strategies for real estate organizations to collaborate with the energy sector to mitigate risks and drive solutions
THE DETAILS
PROPOSAL DEADLINE: MARCH 17, 2025 /
- “Power Issue” proposals should be submitted directly to Summit Journal Editor-in-Chief Ben van Loon by Monday, March 17.
PROPOSAL FORMAT /
- Proposals can be in any format, including a simple paragraph or bullet point summary in an email body, or as a formal attachment and article abstract.
APPROVALS AND FIRST DRAFT DEADLINES /
- Approved contributors will be notified on or around Friday, March 21.
- First drafts will be due by Friday, April 4.
GENERAL ARTICLE GUIDELINES /
- Finished articles should target around 1,500–2,500 words, including exhibits and endnotes.
- All data and quotations, when sourced from third-party resources, must include must an accompanying citation, compliant with Chicago Manual of Style.

PUBLICATION DATE: JUNE 2025 /
- The print edition will be released at the AFIRE 2025 European Conference in Berlin, Germany, June 11–12, 2025.
- The official publishing and feature period will run from June–September 2025.
