What About the Rent? (Part 3)

An AFIRE Virtual Town Hall (Members Only)
May 7, 2020, 10:30-11:30 ET

As the coronavirus spread around the world earlier this year, borders closed and economies shut down as countries attempted to slow the spread of the disease.

By mid-March, supply and demand were waning, unemployment was skyrocketing, and policy makers, real estate leaders, and tenants began asking, “What about the rent?”

In early April, AFIRE members gathered in two digital town halls to begin answering what can and should rent collection look like in a period of economic dislocation? What responsibilities do property managers, landlords, and tenants have to each other–especially as the playbook differs dramatically by city, state, and country?

Now that we’re into May, and have more data for rent, employment, and economic performance, you and all of your interested colleagues are invited to join fellow members from Holland Partner Group, JLL, PwC, and USAA Real Estate, to again explore, what about the rent?

ABOUT AFIRE VIRTUAL EVENTS

Launched in early 2020 as part of AFIRE’s membership events program, AFIRE Virtual Events provide a recurring digital format for AFIRE members to stay connected beyond in-person meetings.

The weekly, members-only, town hall-style meetings are simple 60-minute, discussion-style sessions (hosted on BlueJeans), with AFIRE member panelists and presenters talking about current trends and ideas in an accessible, conversational format. We recommend you join via a Google Chrome Browser or download the BlueJeans event app.

Other special virtual events, outside the weekly scheduled, focus on specialized and timely topics, as well as supporting ongoing education and research.

AFIRE Virtual Events are recorded and made available for members only.
