Reopening After COVID-19
An AFIRE Virtual Event (Members Only)
May 14, 2020, 10:30-11:30 ET
As cities, states, and countries actively strategize what a return to routine looks like in the wake of a global pandemic, it’s clear that normalcy will look a lot different in the future.
Varied lockdowns and quarantines will be implemented as new hotspots intermittently emerge. Travel will be cautiously restricted. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and mandatory distancing will be the standard in public and shared spaces until a COVID-19 vaccine or effective therapies are developed.
What should building owners and managers be doing right now to prepare for the new normal? What new risks, liabilities, and responsibilities should business owners expect when they re-open their offices? Is germ warfare the emerging vanguard of Class A building performance? How do you keep your tenants, employees, and building users safe?
In this AFIRE Virtual Town Hall, leaders and experts from across the industry will discuss what they’re doing to prepare for reopening after COVID-19.
Panelists:
- Gunnar Branson, CEO, AFIRE (Moderator)
- Mike Hu, Managing Director – Capital Markets, Gaw Capital USA
- Despina Katsikakis, Head of Occupier Business Performance, United Kingdom, Cushman & Wakefield
- John Z. Kukral, President & CEO, Northwood Investors
- Kim Pagotto, Partner, Stroock

ABOUT AFIRE VIRTUAL EVENTS
Launched in early 2020 as part of AFIRE’s membership events program, AFIRE Virtual Events provide a recurring digital format for AFIRE members to stay connected beyond in-person meetings.
AFIRE Virtual Events include weekly, members-only, town hall-style meetings; simple 60-minute, discussion-style sessions (hosted on BlueJeans), with AFIRE member panelists and presenters talking about current trends and ideas in an accessible, conversational format.
Other AFIRE Virtual Events outside the weekly town halls focus on specialized and timely topics, as well as supporting ongoing education and research.
AFIRE uses BlueJeans, a virtual meeting platform, for our Virtual Events. For an optimal experience, virtual meeting attendees should access BlueJeans via Google Chrome or the BlueJeans event app.
AFIRE Virtual Events are recorded and made available for members only.
